April 2025

Hello Withrow! We have finally started the Withrow Wire school newspaper. In this article, we will be talking about what is happening in the Withrow community.

                                   

DANCE-O-THON. We hosted a school-wide dance-o-thon in March to raise awareness about muscular dystrophy, and to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Our aim was to raise $500, but we exceeded our goal and raised $2,275!


Now, looking to future fundraising, Jump Rope for Heart is coming super soon. If we raise $4,000, we will get a reward of a 30 minute recess, but if that doesn't sound good enough, if we raise $5,000, we can shave Mr.Tarvit´s head!


So Withrow students, please ask your parents to donate a little bit or make an effort to raise some money. Get your legs ready because jump day is Friday May 2nd.

Welcome to The Withrow Wire, an online newspaper for the students of Withrow Ave. J.P.S. written by the students of Withrow Ave. J.P.S.  Our rotating roster of reporters will keep you informed of all of the interesting things being explored by our students and staff. Comics and puzzles will entertain you! Stories of our students' athletic, artistic, and community engagement will inspire you! Hard-hitting reporting on student interest subjects will broaden your mind.  Look for our blog edition (and print puzzle supplement) monthly throughout the school year.  ************************** If you have a story you think would be interesting for our reporters to investigate please let us know! Connect with your homeroom teacher and they will convey your story ideas to our student-run editorial team for their consideration.
