Sports news

Congrats, to all students that made it to the next round in Track and Field.  There were

nine grade 4’s, seven grade 5’s, and twenty grade 6’s, a total of 36 students.  Withrow has

students advance to the finals in every event except for standing long jump. 


Important things to know about track.


The next track meet is the Conference Finals.  It will be on June 4, 2025 at Birchmount

Stadium, if possible please be there an hour early.   If you finish in the top 4 in your event,

you advance to the City Finals on June 10, 2025.


The Ultimate Frisbee tournament was May 21 2025.  Withrow won all their games.


The slo-pitch tournaments for boys and girls were on May 22.  For girls the tournament

was at bowmore, and for boys it was at topham park.  Both teams learnt a lot and played

awesome!


Sadly, there will not be anymore sports this year because the school year will be ending

soon. 


The sports that are still going on are Track, Ultimate Frisbee, and Lacrosse. 


These are some important things that are happening in the world: In June the Stanley

cup gets awarded, the NBA playoffs are happening,   WNba starts, and in the first week

of July the Tour de France is happening!

In school,  there is a track and field team coached by Mr.T, Mr. Christophe, Mr. Baxter and Mr. Siteman.  The first track meet will be on April 30th at Birchmount Stadium. 


Did you know that ultimate frisbee will be starting next week, and will be coached by Mr. Baxter and Mr.Siteman. 


Slo-pitch for girls will be coached by Mr. Whalley and Mr. Bines and for the boys Mr.T and Mr. Thorlakson. 


We are all excited for the All Gender volleyball team that won the Conference Finals. 


Running Club is on Friday mornings at 8:00am and all students are  welcome so we hope you will be there!
